About Ted Ted became fascinated with photography after he received his first camera, a Kodak Brownie Holiday, for Christmas when he was 6 years old. The idea of pointing this plastic box at something and freezing what he saw was very interesting to him. He is basically a self taught photographer, although he did have instruction through the New York Institute of Photography. In the past 12 years he has combined his interest in photography with his love of the natural world and all that inhabit it. Given the relative short life span of birds and animals, he attempts to immortalize each and every one he photographs. Many of his photographs are taken on Presque Isle State Park, which is a peninsula located on Lake Erie in northwest Pennsylvania. This is a state park which contains over 3000 acres of woodlands, marshes, and wetlands where many animals and waterfowl call home or migrate through. Ted spends many hours in his canoe and walking the many trails which comprise this natural wonder. He is currently taking an online Bird Biology class through the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to increase his knowledge of the many bird species that live or migrate in this area. He is a member of NANPA (North American Nature Photographers Association) and the Audubon Society.
